Fans Lining Up for True/False Film Fest Tickets

Film buffs were lining up early Thursday to get tickets to enjoy this year’s True/False Film Festival offerings. Those queued at the box office’s Ninth and Cherry Street location were given numbered tickets to later join the line inside. However the lively folk-rock music by Salt Lake City’s Bramble, free coffee and fold-up seats made the wait a more pleasant experience.

So far some 1,100 tickets have been bought or distributed to pass holders for the weekend showings, which this year include multiple viewings of the more popular selections. Organizers are pleased with the demand, though festival director Tracy Lane explains that “a sell-out is not the main goal,” and that a buffer of tickets in held for the door.

“It’s been going on so many years now that they’ve got it down to every detail” she beamed.

Fan and early bird Greg Herron weighed in, “It’s a little crowded, but I love the films. Once you get inside the theater and sit down it’s good.” Another attendee, Café Berlin owner Eileen McGuinn said the event was great but regrets that she take advantage of the chance to book online beforehand.
