March 10, 2010 by Vignesh · 1 Comment

The world’s fourth largest music market has just been invaded by another state, the Live Nation state.

Joining the world’s premier live entertainment company is esteemed promoter Johannes Wessels, who will be serving as Managing Director of Live Nation Germany. Klaus Zemke, who brings 20 years experience from Ticket Online and CTS, has come on board already, serving as Managing Director for Ticketmaster Germany.

Simon Lewis, President of Music Marketing Partnerships (International) effused “We now have a significant presence in all the major European music markets. The value of such a comprehensive platform to our multi-national partners is clearly significant.”

In a precursor to today’s announcement of the new division Live Nation had recently sold its 20 percent share in German promoter, Marek Lieberberg Konzertagentur (“MLK”).
