Twins Set for “Target” Debut, Single Game Tickets Available Saturday

Although home opener tickets have been sold out since a special online sale in February, the Minnesota Twins have exciting news for Saturday. Single-game tickets go on sale beginning at 9:00 AM via the team’s web site, telephone service and, of course, the ticket office at the new Target Field.
Getting a ticket may be a little harder this year than previously. Target Field, with a seating capacity of 39,504, is smaller than the Twins former home in the Metrodome.
The adjoining Target Plaza will be holding its grand opening and dedication celebrations from 9 to 3 pm on Saturday.
The Twins are campaigning to host the MLB 2014 All-Star Game at Target Field.
Not bad for a club that as recently as 2001 had itself had been “targeted” for contraction by MLB commissioner Bud Selig.
